Bring YiddishPOP to Your School This Fall
The Naomi Foundation is proud to offer microgrants to support the use of YiddishPOP in school-based settings for the Fall 2025 semester. These grants are intended to make it easier to introduce students to the Yiddish language through the fun and vibrant world of YiddishPOP’s animated and game-based learning tool.
What’s Possible with a Microgrant?
A limited number of $500 microgrants are available to those who want to introduce Yiddish to students in school-based settings. Microgrants can help cover basic costs such as:
- A stipend for a faculty or parent facilitator (Yiddish knowledge NOT required!)
- Snacks for club participants
- Supplies, printed materials, or classroom incentives
What Counts as a Program?
Programs can take many forms—be creative!
- A lunchtime or after-school Yiddish club
- An enrichment or elective class
- Adding Yiddish language using YiddishPOP to an existing course
- Cross-grade activities led by older students
Programs must meet at least four times over the course of the fall semester—though more is encouraged!
No prior Yiddish knowledge is needed to get started! Support will be provided to familiarize facilitators with the material in the first few YiddishPOP lessons and to answer questions on an ongoing basis.
Deadline Passed
The deadline to apply for Fall 2025 was July 21, and the application is now closed.
